Your most important writing companion in the garden is of course your very own perpetual seasonal journal. Beyond that though, are the bibles – the gems – that you will come across that make up your very own brains trust. There is a LOT of information on the net, including our blog, to be fair, but it is valuable to have a real reference in print handy to take out into the garden.

We bought ours in 2004 and it still goes into the garden every single week, complete with food stains, margin notes, placeholders tabs, coffee rings, mud smudges and about 6 page corners cut off cause they got stuck together with gosh-knows-what and I couldn’t turn the pages:

Garden Book: organic vegetable gardening

Essential Garden Books are for writing, noting, keeping and should very quickly have all your own coffee rings and smudge marks in it. This one is ours..

Annette, who wrote this book, lives in Brisbane. She is a most wonderfully knowledgeable lady and her book has become an Australian classic. If you would like to keep up to date with her social media posts as well, then please do look at her Facebook page, here.

Although I am devastated to say that this wonderful book is entirely out of print, we do have a few copies that we have used to lend to clients, that are available for purchase.
You can purchase them, here.
