I learned a lot about Grow, Make and Mend from my Gran. I was lucky enough to live with her during my university years – baking together, shelling almonds and slicing fruit for jam, flipping piklets and afternoon drinkies out next to the orange tree. It is there I learned Gran’s best advice about pacing your life, and savouring every step.

Her words help me to slow down.

I used to take ‘multi-task’ to rediculous levels. I still fight the urge. My Gran noticed this and helped me keep my balance. I repeat her words to myself every day. Gran summed it up this way..

We don’t try to do it all these days, but living seasonally has become a rule for life. We grow, make and mend in season, and a lot of other things besides.

Look wide; grow well, folks 🌿
